Cherith Simmons Dip Ed (Froebel)Founder - Managing Partner
Cherith held a series of management positions within the Department of Work & Pensions including Personnel Manager. She later managed and helped set up its video production unit and managed two policy divisions. Her career continued with the Industrial Society (now Capita) as a Regional Manager before setting up Cherith Simmons Learning & Development in 1989. She is an HR and Communications Specialist and Senior Management Coach.
Peter Waddell MA MCIM MEISenior Partner - Development Director
Peter has worked at board level in the UK’s leading marketing agencies and is a leading-edge Marketing, Management and Communication strategist.

He specialises in Change Management, Marketing, Project Management, Management Development and Tailored Customer Care courses for all levels of staff. He is a guest lecturer at Bristol Business School on Customer Loyalty & a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Greenwich.

Stephen Barrance MIMISenior Partner - Finance and Compliance Director
Stephen has over 20 years of experience of business development and general management in major companies at director level.

He has specialist expertise in finance, business management and planning at all levels and tutors in finance and general management skills, including Health and Safety and Employment Law.

Jeremy West BSc MSc AICS MInstLMPartner
A Corporate Governance specialist with 17 years management experience and a strong IT background, Jerry is lead consultant for Cherith Simmon’s on-line appraisal, feedback, and training needs analysis systems. With a first degree in Computer Science and many years working in the computer industry, Jerry applies a keen understanding of Information Technology to real world problems and to provide competitive advantage. Before he joined Cherith Simmons Learning & Development in 2002, Jerry had operational responsibility for a technical education division with a turnover in excess of £15m per annum. His extensive management experience is thus combined with a good understanding of sales, marketing, and customer service along with a recent second Masters Degree in Corporate Governance.

Our graduate client service management team is drawn from educational establishments and top business schools to provide day-to-day management for our courses. Each is allocated specific clients and their participant groups and provide a single point of contact.

If you are studying at a good business school and are looking for a third year placement, please email us your CV.

You will need excellent grades, very good computer literacy, and ideally, some business experience obtained through previous vacation work . We pay a competitive salary and offer an enormous amount of accelerated work experience. We are interested in your ideas and input too – we are a very open organisation and you will deal directly with the partners on a day-to-day basis.

Associates & Markers

If you are an established trainer, then we would like to hear from you.
We are particularly interested in human resources skills and people skills gained through hands-on management experience as well being a trainer.


We provide induction, support and materials. If you have an opportunity for work from an existing client but not the resources, we’ll work with you.


We also seek markers for assignments and projects to work to strict criteria. All marking is done online so can be done from home.
