Sony UK: Management & supervisory development

Cherith Simmons was selected to design and deliver a 3 year European management development programme for first line managers and supervisors from Sony’s European operations

The programme was delivered at various location in the UK and covered over 150 managers, over a 3 year period awarding them with the ILM Certificate in Management at Level 3

The programme featured specially written exercises, cases studies and simulations

Cherith Simmons was selected to design and deliver a 3 year management development programme through the vehicle of the Dun & Bradstreet Academy

The programme was delivered at various location in the UK and covered over 150 managers, awarding them with the ILM Diploma in Management at Level 5

The programme featured specially written exercises, cases studies and simulations

Cherith Simmons was selected to design & deliver City & Guilds own internal management development programme in partnership with Henley Business School.

The programme was delivered over a 2 year period at various location in London and the South east and covered over 100 managers, awarding them with the ILM Diploma in Management at Level 5

The programme featured specially written exercise, cases studies and simulations.

WAPCO

West African Pipeline Company (Ghana)

Cherith Simmons has provided a number of distance learning programmes for this WAPCO including:

  • ILM Level 3 certificate in management
  • ILM Level Diploma in Management
  • On line communication delivered via elearning

The programme has been supported by Cherith Simmons’ Learning Management System FlexiLearner and is entirely run from the UK.

All programme materials are supplied online including eLearning packages, and marking is undertaken online by UK based tutors.

Hospital – Cleveland Clinic – Abu Dhabi

Cherith Simmons have designed and delivered customised programmes for front line and customer service staff at the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Over 300 front line staff took a 6 day advanced customer care programme

Supervisors undertook a five programme in supervisory management.

The programme was delivered on site in the UAE and was supported by Cherith Simmons Learning Management System, Flexilearner

Wycombe_District_Council

Wycombe District Council – competency design and 360 assessments

Cherith Simmons designed and developed a bespoke competence framework fro Wycombe for all levels of management and staff.  The development used focus groups and surveys and incorporated full union collaboration throughout –

The competencies were used to populate Cherith Simmons on line 360 degree assessment programme E360 and used to determine training needs.

Cherith Simmons also delivered a wide range of training course covering most management skills.

Wandsworth

Wandsworth Service Delivery

Cherith Simmons Learning and Development tailored the design and delivery of the Aspiring Managers and Management Development programmes for managers across the authority and for voluntary sector partner organisations for several cohorts of 10-20 people.

The programme is designed to lift the skills of Wandsworth Managers in dealing with substantial changes to service delivery, budget provision and the needs of a multi-ethnic inner London Borough population.

Topics covered include managing and improving service delivery, managing change, performance management and developing people.

Wandsworth Borough Council supplemented the programme with internally delivered workshops where it made more sense to use internal expertise.

Surrey County Council

Surrey County Council – Management development

This is a large scale multi-level management development programme being delivered by Cherith Simmons over 3 years in parallel with separate programmes of similar scale, being delivered for the same period to two of the major Surrey Hospital Trusts, Ashford St Peters and Royal Surrey.

The core delivery is based on a blended learning approach.
Highly interactive workshops based on action learning principles are reinforced by pre course work in subject specific work books downloaded from the customised learning management system we have set up free of charge for Surrey as part of our contract offer.
Learners download workbooks and complete some elements to bring to workshops. Usually these are about self-assessment across a wide range of skills such as leadership styles, team role preferences, self-assessment on influencing skills, assertiveness skills, delegation skills, emotional intelligence etc.

  • This 3 year contract covers a wide range of management and interpersonal skills delivered against a framework of ILM qualfictaions at levels 3 & 5

Over 1,000 managers are taking part in the programme over its duration.

Hart district council (Hampshire) – Management development

This is an innovative mixed delivery programme which incorporates a blend of face to face workshops, distance learning for dispersed workers and accredited elearning.

The programme is accessible to over 350 staff

 NHS England: Commissioning & Procurement:

4 day commissioning and procurement programme incorporating the ILM Level 3 & 5 Certificate in Service Improvement.

This programme was specially tailored for NHS England to reflect a greater concentration on the management of larger scale contracts.

Ashford NHS

Ashford and St. Peters and Royal Surrey County Hospital

Cherith Simmons have been commissioned by Ashford and St. Peters and Royal Surrey County Hospital to deliver a multi-level programme across 2 sites.

The programme covers the following levels:

  • ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management (front line managers)
  • ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management ( Middle management)
  • ILM Level 7 Certificate in Leadership and Management (Senior leadership team)

The programme uses a mix of highly interactive workshops, self-study and optional supplementary e-learning.

Content is contextualised to a Hospital Trust environment

The programme has reached over 400 managers to date with a value of over £300,000 over 3 years

Thanet NHS

 

Cherith Simmons learning and development have been working with Thanet CCG to deliver a programme for them to imoprove their services whilst reducing delivery costs.

The 4 day Commissioning and Procurement programme incorporates the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Service Improvement. 

The Service Improvement requires participants to complete a work based improvement report which has generated measurable savings across the organisation.

This programme was specially tailored and delivered on site.

We have also run a one day workshop for Collaborative and Partnership Working.

Southampton

The University of Southampton Health Technology Assessment faculty

The University of Southampton commissioned Cherith Simmons Learning and Development to deliver 2 cohorts of ILM Level 3 Award and Certificate in Leadership and Management.

Cherith Simmons worked with HTA to design and develop a bespoke solution for the participants who operated in a unique research environment.

We also incorporated internal templates and documents provided by HTA.

The programme was made up of 9 workshop days. Participants had the option of completing either the Award or the Certificate level.

LSE

London School of Economics and Political Science

Cherith Simmons is commissioned to deliver two programme to LSE academics and administrative staff.

The programmes are part of the Leadership and Development programme for such staff outsourced by the LSE to a range of framework providers.

Our current programme include Marketing and Strategic Marketing and is aimed at faculty teams charged with revenue maximisation across a wide range of activities from intellectual property to accommodation  resources.

The programme is in its second year and receiving excellent revues

Action for Children

Action for children: Action Academy

Cherith Simmons worked with Action for Children over a 7 year period delivering a wide range of management development programmes at all levels nationwide.

Over 500 managers went through the programme

NPS

National Probation Service

Surrey and Sussex Probation Trust commissioned us to design and deliver an accredited ILM programme in Management across 3 cohorts of 10-20 participants each. The programme was designed to provide management with new and refreshed skills to deliver real and tangible change in the face of sector reform and the challenge of competition for service provision.

The workforce is dispersed, professional and under some pressure at all times so the programme was designed for minimum attendance by blending workshops, self-study and e-learning.

We are now on our 8th cohort and have been working for Probation for over 5 years.

Topics covered within the programme include managing and improving service delivery, dealing with budget reductions and the challenge of contestability. The programme was delivered across the region at multiple sites including Brighton, Hove and Godalming.

The programme was managed using Flexilearner to provide 24/7 flexible access to learning materials, resources and tutors. The learners forum and online chat room provide the opportunity to provide virtual; learning sets and study groups.

The programme has been delivered to over 250 Probation officers to date
