Supporting Fair Access, Respect and Participation at Cherith Simmons

At Cherith Simmons Learning & Development LLP, we are committed to promoting inclusion, equality and respect across our apprenticeship provision.

We recognise that inclusion is most effective when it is practical, proportionate and responsive to individual circumstances. At present, inclusion is formally embedded through tripartite meetings with learners and employers, where workplace experience, barriers to participation and reasonable adjustments are discussed collaboratively.

Alongside this, support, guidance and external resources are available at all times to learners, employers and staff.

Our Inclusion Commitment

We aim to:

  • promote fair access to learning and assessment
  • remove barriers to participation where they arise
  • treat learners with dignity, respect and fairness
  • work collaboratively with employers to support individual needs
  • ensure learners know how to access help and advice at any time

Inclusion is closely linked to safeguarding, wellbeing and learner engagement.

How Inclusion Works in Practice (Current Position)

Inclusion Through Tripartite Meetings

Inclusion is formally addressed during tripartite reviews, involving the learner, employer and training provider.

During these meetings we:

  • discuss the learner’s workplace experience
  • review workload, expectations and support needs
  • identify any barriers to participation or progress
  • consider reasonable adjustments where appropriate
  • agree actions jointly with the employer and learner

This reflects the reality that many inclusion-related barriers arise within the workplace, rather than the classroom.

Outcome: inclusion concerns are addressed collaboratively, with shared responsibility and clear actions.

Ongoing Access to Support Outside Tripartite Reviews

While inclusion discussions are formally embedded in tripartite meetings, learners are not limited to raising concerns only at these points.

Learners can:

  • contact us at any time for advice or support
  • raise concerns informally with tutors or assessors
  • access internal guidance and external support services independently

Concerns that indicate wellbeing or safeguarding risk are managed appropriately and sensitively.

Accessing Inclusion Support

Learners, staff and employers can contact us to:

Our Approach to Continuous Improvement

We are transparent that inclusion is an area of ongoing development.

We are:

  • strengthening how inclusion is identified earlier in the learner journey
  • improving consistency in how staff discuss inclusion
  • aligning inclusion more closely with safeguarding and wellbeing
  • reviewing feedback from learners and employers to inform improvement

Inclusion is not static — it evolves as learner needs and workplace contexts change.

A Message to Learners

You are entitled to:

  • be treated fairly and respectfully
  • feel included and supported
  • raise concerns without fear
  • access help when you need it

If you are unsure whether something is an inclusion issue, a wellbeing concern or safeguarding matter — contact us. We will guide you.
